Focus and Alignment Strategies

In the last edition, we began a discussion about how entrepreneurs view big businesses. We looked at errors caused by misunderstandings based on individual perceptions. The goal was to understand the challenges posed by our personal but incorrect views of events. We concluded that entrepreneurs must refocus and realign.

Today, we would discuss proven strategies to ensure that we can refocus and realign.

1. Read – Seek knowledge by reading.

Read specific books that address your core needs and knowledge gap. Hard and soft copies of books are accessible in bookstores. There are hundreds of articles addressing most issues online. Read.

2. Research – Conduct research about your customers.

You must start your market research with your existing clients/customers. Know their needs and pain points. Then expand to getting samples from populations outside your market reach or industry. Read reviews on websites, especially critical reviews. Reviews help you to know what your competitors’ strengths and weaknesses are.

3. Seek Counsel – No one knows everything.

Seek counsel from other business enthusiasts. People are usually gateways to eye-opening instructions. Learn to unlock your solutions through intelligent conversations. Talk to people who have done what you are looking to do.

4. Persist – Keep at it.

Get to walk through these things till you have your desired results. Do not struggle and complain in silence. Instead of wasting time on vain contemplation, put your business out. Soon you will yield the results of consistency.

5. Focus – Focus on building your Business.

Covert your perception about bullying from big businesses to energy. Then use that energy to build your own business into a big business too. Some day, small businesses will look at you as a bully. That is the circle of growth.

6. Be a victor, not a victim – Never wallow in pity.

Use all the strategies you have learned to scale up. See your growth as a climb up. every step like that is found on a ladder. Keep your focus at the top and you will continue to see only opportunities. Your business will be the next envy.

“Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance.” An instructive quote from the best book I love to read daily.

In the meantime, I would like to read from you. You can share your experiences with me via the DM of the social media platform you are reading from.
